The following prohibited import categories are compiled based on the operational experience of EFSPOST Ping An Consolidation. They do not have legal effect but have high reference value. Before sea transportation, please consult customer service about prohibited products to avoid unnecessary losses. If you fail to consult our company in advance before applying for mailing, all subsequent fees and legal consequences will be borne by the cargo owner, and our company will not be liable.
The following items cannot enter New Zealand:
⊗ Meat and meat products: fresh, cooked, including snacks. For example: butter hot pot base, duck blood vermicelli soup, non-vegetarian self-heating hot pot, dried sausage, ham, beef jerky, pork floss, meat floss products, meat-flavored candies, braised chicken, roast duck, meat mooncakes, meat dumplings, pet food, etc.
⊗ Dairy products: milk, cheese, milk powder, butter, ghee, three-in-one dairy drinks.
⊗ Eggs and egg products: fresh eggs, cooked eggs, salted eggs, preserved eggs, marinated eggs, and egg cartons, etc.
⊗ Bee products: honey, pollen, propolis, beehives (honeycombs), royal jelly, beeswax, honey syrup, etc.
⊗ Fresh vegetables, fresh fruits
⊗ Dried tangerine peel, citrus peel, citrus leaves, jackfruit products, breadfruit products, luo han guo products, whole barley, oats, rye, whole wheat
⊗ Freshwater fish: fresh fish, frozen fish, salted fish, dried fish.
⊗ Medicinal animal products: such as bird‘s nest, deer antler, deer penis, bear bile, dried reptiles (e.g., dried snakes, dried lizards), chicken gizzard lining, etc.
⊗ Rare animals and plants and their products (including traditional Chinese medicines, jewelry, souvenirs, handicrafts, and antiques): common CITES-protected species include American ginseng, costus root, gastrodia elata, musk, truffles, ganoderma lucidum, turtle shell, bear bile, antelope horn, tiger bone, rhinoceros horn, seals, pangolins, and certain snakes, clams, corals, ivory, etc.
⊗ Animals: insects, pets, ornamental fish, birds, small turtles, hatching eggs, etc.
⊗ Plants: seeds, whole plants, cuttings, bulbs, corms, rhizomes, tubers, etc. Fresh camellia flowers, flower wreaths, flower wreath materials. Unpopped corn and straw packaging materials.
⊗ Soil, holy water.
⊗ Biological cultures and organisms, biological products, animal feed, animal medicines and vaccines, food additives, pesticides, insecticides, etc.
⊗ Traditional Chinese medicines and western medicines
⊗ Alcohol or transparent alcoholic beverages (beer, white wine, etc.) and other liquids
The following listed items all need to be quarantined and inspected by quarantine officers from the Ministry for Primary Industries (MAF). Some items need to undergo specific quarantine treatment before they can safely enter New Zealand.

◉ Plant products: nuts, traditional Chinese herbs, seasonings, soup bases. For example: walnut kernels, wolfberry, soybeans, sorghum, millet, wheat grains, dried tangerine peel, honeysuckle, codonopsis pilosula, lotus seeds, lily, mushrooms, fungus, etc.
◉ Straw, wheat, and straw products, straw handicrafts, potpourri jars or bottles. Wood carvings, baskets, bamboo and rattan products, etc.
◉ Dried flowers and vegetables, dried flower baskets, branches and leaves, pinecones and pinecone shells, etc.
◉ Outdoor camping and sports equipment: such as tents, shoes, football shoes, golf shoes, etc.
◉ Animal products: hides, furs (such as drums, erhu and other musical instruments), feathers, animal specimens, animal bones, horns and teeth, game displays, unprocessed wool, animal hair, eggshell crafts, etc.
◉ Veterinary equipment, equipment and utensils related to livestock, saddlery and riding equipment, birdcages, freshwater fishing tackle and used bait, off-road bicycles, etc.
