Why Does the Chargeable Weight Differ from the Actual Weight?

Q: Why does the actual weight of a parcel show 5kg when it is stored in the warehouse, but becomes 10kg when it is dispatched?
A: The weight recorded when the parcel is stored in the warehouse is the actual weight, while the chargeable weight = MAX{outbound gross weight, outbound volume weight}, which is the larger value between the actual weight of the goods and the volume weight (calculated as length cm × width cm × height cm / 5000).

Q: Why is volume weight used, and how is it calculated?
A: Because some goods are very light but occupy a large volume, they need to be converted into volume weight as the chargeable weight.
Volume weight calculation formula: (length cm × width cm × height cm) / 5000.
Example: A parcel with an in-warehouse actual weight of 15kg and dimensions 40cm (L) × 50cm (W) × 60cm (H),
the volume weight is (40 × 50 × 60) ÷ 5000 = 24kg.
Since the volume weight > actual weight, the chargeable weight is 24kg.

The weight and dimensions of goods are automatically measured by a machine, not manually. The measurement standard is the maximum length, width, and height of the goods. The goods may be squeezed or deformed during transportation to the warehouse, and the data is subject to the measurement results after the goods are actually received. If you have any objections to the dimensions or weight, please apply for a recheck before applying for mailing or making payment.
