Instructions on New Zealand GST-related Charges (Excluding Alcohol and Tobacco)

1. If the declared value of a single order exceeds NZD 1,000, customs will charge 15% GST on the total order value (not just the part exceeding NZD 1,000) and customs declaration fees (starting from NZD 125) for converting to commercial customs clearance;

2. If the declared value of a single order does not exceed NZD 1,000, but after customs inspection, the customer is required to provide payment proof and it is confirmed that the order value exceeds NZD 1,000, GST and customs declaration fees will be supplemented.

3. If the declared value of a single order or the value confirmed by inspection exceeds NZD 1,000, a Customs Client Code must be applied to the New Zealand Customs for secondary customs clearance.

4. An operation fee of NZD 50 will be charged for assistance in applying for a Customs Client Code from New Zealand Customs.

5. If a GST monthly settlement account has not been applied for with customs, to not affect customs clearance efficiency, we have the right to require customers to prepay GST in advance. After customs clearance is completed, any overpayment will be refunded and any arrears will be collected. A GST agency operation fee of NZD 50 will also be charged.
